Be warned: Costa Rican police are checking your speed! On all open roads the speed limit is 80 km/h. We have been stopped 2x for speeding so far and always managed to wiggle ourselves out of paying a fine, but don't count on it. I'm not saying that the police is corrupt, just strict - they were always friendly...
