Paraguay to Iguazu/Brazil
INFO:
If you are like us and appreciate good German style bread and other European goodies then you'll enjoy stocking up in Asunción! Since we'd been driven around by Sandra, our friend, we can't help much with detailled addresses or even GPS readings, so look for a local phone book or ask at the tourist information for the following businesses:
• the shop of the Chaco Co-Op: good selection of German sausages, cheese, and bread. Sundry other items at reasonable prices.
• Casa Rica, Avda. Aviadores del Chaco y Avda. Gral. San Martin: well known German Delicatessen - not cheap, but you might find a few things you have been craving for for a long time.
• Bäckerei Michael Bock, Avda. Franco Ayoles 828, Tel. 495 847: real German bread and some cakes, made partly with imported ingredients. You can get this bread at the Co-Op (above), too!
• Jardin Alemán, German Hotel and Restaurant along RN2 outside the city past San Lorenzo: German buffet style dinner - better on weekends!
